Volunteer for Toys for Tots

Here are some things we’ve implemented to help keep our volunteers safe and to support you:

Descriptions of different volunteering opportunities below.

We need armies of volunteers to help us sort all of the donated toys we receive.  We expect to receive somewhere between 70 and 80 thousand toys to be sorted.  A sorter will look at a toy, determine the appropriate aged child that would like the toy, determine if the toy is gender specific and then place that toy in the box that is labeled with the sorter's age/gender determination.  The sorter will continue this process as long as there are toys to be sorted.

We need armies of volunteers to help us prepare gift bags for the children.  Based on the total number of toys received and children anticipated for each age/gender group, a gift bag will be prepared.  This gift bag should be created with the Christmas spirit in the hopes of putting a smile on a child face Christmas morning.  So it is important that the gift bag preparers strive to create bags that will spark joy. 

We have a special request and opportunity for those gift makers that volunteer for Thursday the 19th (5 - 8 PM).  We want to make this a festive occasion, so we are looking to have music and snacks for those that show up!  Come join us as we prepare the gift bags that will be handed out to those less fortunate children of Pinellas County!!  

We need a team of volunteers to deliver gift bags.  The escort will receive a list of children by age and gender and then collect one bag for every child on the list.  The escort will then deliver the gift bag to the trunk/back of car.  The car will basically be in a drive-thru mode.
